Hi Everyone,

Congrats to the teams who took part in Sunday’s annual FIAC Kayak Relay! What a great time! We are proud to hold onto the 1^st place title for the 3^rd year in a row! Great job to our team, Susy, Reggie & Juan Pablo, and of course all of the others who came out and braved the wind!

Another greta announcement is that all of our St. Maarten teams are still in contention at the BC Bike Race (www.bcbikerace.com). Not only are they still riding in this 7-day grueling event, but they are also doing a great job! In the Mixed Team Category, the Kopec Team #17 (Kristin & Mike Kopec) are in 5^th place! Great job guys! #11 Dickwitt (Terry de Witt & Dick Lutteckes) are the next couple in 11^th place, with Sandra and Ronan Garnier’s Team #7 Crash Test Dummies heading up close behind in 13^th place.

Team #1 Adventure Seekers (Eric Schroeder & Angel Gioia) are in 23^rd place in their Veteran Category and #22 Crashed Helmet (Bruno Therond & Moshe Hakimi) are 74^th in the largest category of Men’s Teams. We are all thinking of you guys!!

BIG NEWS: Tri-Sport would like to wish Jesse and Heidi only the best as they pack up their lives and head to New Zealand. They have both contributed so much to the mountain biking scene here on St. Maarten over the last ten years and were part of the group of pioneers who started the mountain bike trails over at Bellevue. Thank you to you both for all you have given St. Maarten and us.

NEXT IMPORTANT EVENT: The next important race to think about is the upcoming 10^th annual Love City Triathlon in St. John’s next month. The beautiful Maho Bay sets the scene for this Sprint Distance Triathlon (800m Swim, 22K Bike and 7K Run) and Duathlon (800m Swim, 5K Run). Check out the website www.8tuffmiles.com for more info.

Meet at the RBTT Bank near Port de Plaisance in Colebay for a 7K run along Bellevue to Marigot and back.

6:00am Intense Road Ride

Meet our new mechanic, Reggie Douglas, and St. Maarten’s newest female cyclist, ex-pro rider Monica, at the Texaco gas station near Port de Plaisance in Colebay for a 2-hour gentle ride.

Thursday July 3^rd    

5:00pm Kayak Training Interval

Meet in front of Picante Restaurant at Kim Sha Beach for a 5K time trial paddle to Cay Bay and back. Stay on for an ice cold Margarita!

Friday July 4^th  

5:30pm Mullet Bay Group Run

A gentle 5K & 7K run along the outskirts of the golf course. Meet at the old front desk at Mullet Bay and join a great group of runners as they start their weekend off on the right foot.

Saturday July 5^th  THE START OF THE TOUR DE FRANCE! Brest to Plumelec (197Km)   

6:30am Mountain Bike Session

Join a fun group of off-roadies who will show you a part of St. Maarten you never knew existed. Tough but well worth the effort!

Meet at Loterie Farm for a tough climb up to Pic Paradis, then along the trails towards Concordia. Finish up at Le Sucriere in Marigot on the waterfront.
