Event Details


The 2025 Boardwalk Triathlon takes place on June 1st 2025 in Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Three distances:
Try-A-Tri - 300M Swim, 7Km Bike, 2.5Km Run
Sprint - 750M Swim, 20Km Bike, 5Km Run
Olympic - 1500M Swim, 40Km Bike, 10Km Run
Age Categories for Individual Men & Women. Additional categories are Teams and Juniors.
Start Time: 6:00am for Olympic Distance, 6:30am for Sprint and Try-A-Tri at the Taloula Mango Restaurant at the St. Rose Arcade on the Boardwalk in Philipsburg, St. Maarten.
Registration is now open online at https://forms.gle/XtEQe9rERgwYJ2tr6 or at Tri-Sport in Marigot and in Simpsonbay.
Race Numbers can be picked up at Tri-Sport from May 19th to the 29th at Tri-Sport in Simpsonbay
The entry Fee is $35 per person, and $25 for Team Members and Juniors (under 18). Includes a top quality sports T-Shirt and a yummy breakfast.

Sprint
Swim - Triangle Swim in Great Bay in Front of Taloula Mango - 750M
Bike - 20Km - https://www.strava.com/routes/2821502120446213870
Leave from Taloula, along Front Street, crossing the bridge onto Yrausquin Blv. and turning left towards Pondfill. Follow Pondfill over Prins Bernard Bridge, then up to Carrefour and ride around the roundabout returning along the same route to the small bridge where you exited Front Street at the start of the ride. Complete this lap three times before returning to the transition via Back Street.

The run is two laps of the Boardwalk, heading towards Greenhouse first, crossing the pedestrian bridge to Bobby's Marina, and returning via the second bridge. Continue on the Boardwalk until the very end after Walter Plantz Square, then to the end of the small Cay, and back to transition. Run this loop twice.
Olympic
Swim - Triangle Swim in Great Bay in front of Taloula Mango of 750M x 2 - 1500M
Bike - 40Km - https://www.strava.com/routes/2821501330200751104 Leave from Taloula, along Front Street, crossing the bridge onto Yrausquin Blv. and turning left towards Pondfill. Follow Pondfill over Prins Bernard Bridge, then up to Grand Marche and continue up AJC Brouwers Road on Cay Hill, turning left down Link One and then passing Divi Little Bay. Turn left before Front Street and right at Real Auto, back to the small bridge where you exited Front Street at the start of the ride. Complete this lap four times before returning to the transition via Back Street.

Try-A-Tri
Swim will be out to a 150M marker and back. The bike will follow the same route as the Sprint to the Carrefour Roundabout, but riders complete only one lap. The run will be one lap of the Boardwalk, same route as the Sprint, but half the distance.
Rules:
• All Teams must be of MIXED GENDER (Actually, this is a Malcolm Maidwell Rule and we like it!) even if the team consists of only two people.
• Every swimming participant must be BODY MARKED.
• Racers must MOUNT and DISMOUNT in specified areas of the TRANSITION AREA
• NO RIDING in the TRANSITION AREA. The Transition area is only for the INDIVIDUAL ATHLETES, not TEAMS. Only INDIVIDUAL ATHLETES are authorized to ENTER the TRANSITION AREA.
• You must have a properly fitted HELMET, which must be buckled before leaving the transition area
• A SWIMCAP is mandatory
• Men (and Women) must wear a TOP in the CYCLING and RUNNING LEGS, even if some would prefer otherwise.....
• DRAFTING IS ALLOWED. Because Susy is lazy!
Swimmers and runners may also draft
• Do not dispose of garbage along the course. Throw your gel or bar packets into a garbage container or keep them with you until you can dispose of them properly. You can throw your water stop cups on the course as they will be picked up by volunteers.
• NO HEADPHONES during the event. No excuses, no stories, just listen to the birds and talk to each other.
• Your RACE NUMBER must be displayed on the front of the body and be visible to the volunteers at all times
• You must follow the directions of the RACE DIRECTOR and VOLUNTEERS by way of cones and markings on the course. No shortcuts!
• The ROADS ARE OPEN TO TRAFFIC, so you must watch out for your own safety, and obey traffic rules
• You, and only you must COUNT your own laps
• No OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE, apart from refreshments by official water stops
• Inform the Time Keeping Officials if you ABANDON the race or made an error in your laps or course route.
